Epworth Village is incorporated with the State of Illinois as a religious, benevolent, not-for-profit organization for the purpose of developing, owning, and operating a residential complex providing affordable residences for senior citizens and a community center for education and recreational purposes.

Epworth Village, Inc. is recognized as an affiliate 501(c)(3) organization by the General Council on Finance and Administration of the United Methodist Church .
